Obama − a Christian or a
Muslim − and Does It Matter?
Part I

OBAMA and all other politicians who pursue an agenda with the intent to dismantle the Constitution and our traditional American institutions and values must be held accountable based on those actions, not based on the religion they profess.

You can't express your opposition to the building of an Islamic mosque at Ground Zero in NYC because to do so is a violation of Sharia Law!

LAST EVENING, Friday, Aug. 6, I received an email from Act! for America, under the heading UNBELIEVABLE CENSTORSHIP!, forwarding to me a shocking communication from Pamela Geller of Stop Islamisation of America. Ms. Geller and Robert Spencer, also of SIOA, have filed a lawsuit against New York City's Metropolitan Transit Authority for censoring their freedom of speech speech -- out of deference to Sharia law! I felt that the email, including Ms. Geller's complete communication, were important enough to reproduce in their entirety here. A statement from the law firm that filed the suit follows. You think Sharia law won't come to America? It's here, my friends! Read on, and you'll see.

Happy 234th Birthday, America
Let's Go for 468!

ON THIS FOURTH OF JULY, while celebrating 234 years of American freedom and American , as we know it and as its founders envisioned it, survive for another 234 years? Will the principles so powerfully expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights endure for another two and one-third centuries? If George Washington and Samuel Adams and Thomas Jefferson could see what the United States of America will look like in 2244, would they be proud of where the intervening generations have taken the country?

Honoring Fatherhood

I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT STRANGE, as a young boy, as a young father, and throughout my life, that when I went to church on Mother's Day I would hear mothers and motherhood praised from the pulpit, but on Father's Day, no matter where I was or who was giving the sermon, it seemed that almost invariably fathers were more preached at than praised.

Who Has the Right To Say
Who Has the Right To Be
Called a Journalist?

IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS, there are really only two criteria that qualify someone to be a legitimate journalist: the ability to write with clarity and the ability (and inclination) to tell the truth. Based on the latter of those criteria, sadly, the majority of career "journalists" in this country at this point in our history don't qualify. I'll trust an honest amateur any day over a professional propagandist masquerading as "The Press."

Honoring Evil: Palestinians Heap Glory on Mass Murderer

I RECENTLY received an email from a Jewish friend of mine who has a chilling personal connection to a horrific event that took place 32 years ago in Israel -- a ruthless, murderous rampage by a gang of Palestinian terrorists led by a 19-year-old Palestinian girl named Dalal Mughrabi. In all, 38 innocent men, women and children were massacred that day in the deadliest terrorist attack in Israel's history. Last week, the Palestinian Authority commemorated -- actually celebrated -- the anniversary of that unspeakably evil act by naming a public square in Mughrabi's honor.

Obama's Ultimate
Gaffe-and-a-Half

President Barak Obama, who wants to take over the private health care industry -- one-sixth of the U.S. economy -- doesn't seem to know what 100 percent of anything is. I kid  you not. At a rally in Strongville, Ohio, Monday, March 15, 2010, to promote ObamaScare, B.O. actually said that workers who get their health insurance through their employers may see premiums go down by as much as 3,000% if his plan is adopted!!!!  Obama already has his hand on the joystick of the biggest budget on the planet and is jerking it around like a video-game-addicted adolescent playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. For him to make such a gargantuan gaffe is more than unsettling. It's downright scary.

Obama, You Lie!

Obama Pinochio nose characatureTime after time in President Obama’s Sept. 9, 2009, speech on health care before a joint session of Congress, he called the American people liars for speaking what he, himself, knows darn well is the truth. And that, it seems, is okay. Time after time in his speech, the President told lie after lie, bold-faced and blatantly, knowing full well that what he said was untrue. And that, it seems, is okay. Time after time, when the President told a lie or called the American people liars, the Congressional Democrats applauded, cheered, and rose to their feet. But when Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) grew increasingly and justifiably incensed by the President’s hubris, audacity and mendacity, and finally, unable to hold it in any longer, one time shouted out, “You lie,” following one of the President’s most outrageous and demonstrable lies – that, it seems, is not okay.

Rand's Rants

Freedom, Not Fear? Oh, That's Rich!

Sept. 2, 2010 — I MUST GIVE Common Cause credit. Whoever is writing for the organization, a radical liberal non-profit that claims to be non-partisan, has mastered the art of propaganda rhetoric. He/she uses the language of patriotism in a way that sounds oh-so-patriotic, while turning the meaning of the words completely upside down. It could be quite convincing if one failed to look beneath the pretty turns of phrase and see the organization's real agenda.

But I've seldom seen this kind of rhetorical deception done with greater finesse than in the following Email blast from Common Cause on Aug. 30, 2010, under the subject line, "Freedom, Not Fear," and over the signature of Bob Edgar, president and CEO. Mr. Edgar (assuming it was he who is the actual author of this artfully deceptive communication) wrote:

"Freedom of thought and expression lies at the heart of America. The First Amendment's guarantees of free speech, press, religion and assembly constitute a national commitment to tolerance of unpopular ideas and those who espouse them."

Oh, that's rich! If I didn't know something about Common Cause and its agenda, I might really get sucked in by that. And yet it is totally disingenuous.

Fact is, Common Cause has long been one of the leading advocates of free speech limitations masquerading under the appellation, "Campaign Finance Reform" as well as numerous other "reforms," all calculated to silence the conservative voice. Common Cause champions media "reforms" that would give government (local and national) the power to decide what can and can't be said on the air, based on what is deemed to be "in the public interest." So listeners would not get to decide what and who they wanted to listen to; rather, politicians and bureaucrats would make those decisions.

Common Cause also supports media ownership policies that amount to effective affirmative action for the media, meaning that broadcast licenses would be taken away from present owners and given to "underrepresented" minorities.

Edgar continues: "So attempts like those now underway in New York to block a Muslim group from opening a community center and mosque near the former site of the World Trade Center strike at our most fundamental values. The politicians and commentators leading the fight against the center are stoking a mob mentality that could scarcely be more un-American; they seek to make enemies out of their fellow countrymen."

Strike at our most fundamental values? Un-American? Look who's calling the kettle hot.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who is behind the drive to build a 15-story, mosque overlooking Ground Zero, claims to be a moderate and says that the purpose of the mosque at that location is to promote "interfaith understanding." Yet he has ranted about America being worse than the Al Qaeda terrorists who flew planes into the World Trade Towers and murdered thousands of innocent civilians in the name of Allah. That is surely not promoting interfaith understanding, and no mosque at that location, built by an Imam who has said such offensive things (Why is it that they can offend and we cannot?) could do other than cause greater pain to families of 9/11 victims -- and we were all victims.

Moreover, Imam Rauf has involvement with Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the U.S. representative of Hamas, and with the radical Muslim Brotherhood. Excuse me, but Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood have declared us to be their enemies. Nobody in America is trying to make enemies out of any American Muslim who genuinely loves his freedoms in this country and isn't seeking to deprive others of theirs through the imposition of Sharia law. If Imam Rauf were truly one of those, as he claims to be, he would embrace the offer of New York's Governor David Paterson to build the mosque at another site donated by the state. That would go a long way toward building the interfaith understanding he purports to seek.

Better still: Maybe Imam Rauf could negotiate a trade with the Saudis (as long as he's over there on a diplomatic mission for Obama anyway: He gets to build a 15-story mosque at Ground Zero and we get to build a15-story Christian church in Mecca. Hey, we can't even carry a personal bible into that tolerant country.

As for Mr. Edgar, his assertion that Americans who express their views about the building of a mosque at Ground Zero are un-American is patently hypocritical. Where is the tolerance for their viewpoint? Where is their right to free speech? The Imam and his followers have it; their critics don't. The Left has it; the rest of us don't.

Yes, freedom of thought and expression do lie at the heart of America. But Common Cause, under the sham of protecting that freedom, is endeavoring to stifle the freedom of expression of anyone with whom it disagrees. Mr. Edgar errs gravely in his efforts to intimidate the American people. We see through his doubletalk, we will not be intimidated, we will stand for freedom, and we do not fear. — Rand Green

Racist? Explain this one, please!

Aug. 27, 2010 — The proponents of open borders and of amnesty for those who have entered the country illegally are quick to label as "racist" anyone who believes that U.S. immigration laws ought to be obeyed and enforced. How so? The preponderance, though by no means all, of those who have chosen to enter our country by prying open the back window rather than knocking on the front door are Hispanic, and yet the same "politically correct" set that cries "racist!" is also quick to point out, quite correctly, that Hispanic is not a race; that, in fact, "Hispanics can be of any race." (I Googled that phrase, in quotes, and got more than 300,000 results.) Can someone explain this one, please? How can anyone be "racist" toward people who "can be of any race"?

We'll leave the definition of "La Raza," as well as the discussion of who are the real racists, for another time. But I do wish to state emphatically that while there may be some rare exceptions among the hundreds of millions of Americans who are opposed to illegal immigration, overwhelmingly race does not factor in one iota for those of us who support secure borders and enforcement of immigration laws. Rather, we are concerned with national security and respect for law. We desire that those who come here to stay, regardless of race, understand what it means to be an American; that they come to embrace what America stands for, not to change it, not to subvert it, and not to demand rights of entitlement; and that when they become citizens, they do so without divided loyalty. We welcome all such, for that type of people regardless of race will help to keep our country strong, prosperous and free.

For those who come to work, and not to stay, we expect for them to come under legally established programs, to respect our laws while here, and to return home when their work visas expire.

No, we who oppose illegal immigration are not racist. Nor are we anti-Hispanic. Nor are we anti-immigration. It vexes me the way the Obama regime's spokescritters, their sycophants in liberal press, the Congressional Democrats, and (sadly) even some Republican supporters of amnesty (by whatever name) accuse us of being "anti-immigration" when we are merely opposed to illegal immigration. But that point has been made repeatedly. That the misrepresentation persists is evidence that it is a deliberately slanderous lie.

U.S. Senator Tom McClintock (R-California), put it well in a recent Sacramento Bee op-ed when he said, "One cannot support both legal and illegal immigration at the same time." Those who want to erase our national borders to further their own agenda are well aware of that fact but choose to ignore it, because being truthful would be detrimental to their cause. Instead, they deceitfully choose, as Sen. McClintock said, "to hurl accusations of racism" against those with whom they disagree. — Rand Green

We who breathe free air today owe an eternal debt to Lt. Charles Ralph Campbell and his crew, and to all other Allied military personnel who fought and died in World War II, as well as all other conflicts in our nation's history from the American Revolution to the present day. We can repay that debt only by remembering, and by doing all within our own power to safeguard our freedoms for generations yet to come.

By U.S. Rep. Tom McClintock

" I have extolled the virtues of legal immigration throughout my entire career in public office. Unlike most nations, our immigration laws were not written to keep people out. They were written to assure that as immigrants come to America, they come with the intention to become Americans and to fully assimilate into American society by acquiring a common language, a common culture and a common allegiance to American constitutional principles. Illegal immigration undermines the entire process of legal immigration that makes our nation of immigrants possible."

"Jim Bennett, the son and campaign manager of soon-to-be-former U.S. Sen. Bob Bennett, announced recently that he was working for the campaign of Democrat Sam Granato. In doing so, he declared that Granato’s beliefs were “more consistent with the values of mainstream Utah than Mike Lee,” the conservative Republican nominee who defeated his father for the GOP nomination. Once again, these establishment Republicans apparently believe that anyone who takes the ideals of limited government, individual liberty and lower taxes seriously is some sort of fringe ideological kook – despite the fact that these values form the basis not only of the Republican Party, but of the American Republic itself.
