| Patriotism Is ... By Rand Green July 4, 2008 There are those who would have you believe that all political agendas are morally equivalent and, therefore, equally patriotic. That is a preposterous notion. While it is true that no one political party has a monopoly on patriotism, it is equally true that there are some political agendas that are flagrantly unpatriotic. Any agenda that seeks to diminish the constitutional rights of American citizens or to undermine the onstitution itself falls in that category, and there has been a lot of that going around lately. Our basic freedoms have been methodically eroded over the last few decades, and anyone (regardless of party) who has been a party to allowing that to happen has engaged in an unpatriotic act. THANK YOU for your patience as we undertake an extensive overhaul of the PerspicacityPress.com website. When we launched PerspicacityPress.com in 1999, we utilized what was then state-of-the-art technology. We subsequently upgraded in 2003, but the internet has come light years since then, and the codes and protocols we have been using became slow and unwieldy and were no longer compliant with current standards. In order to bring the site into compliance and make it more user friendly and more search engine friendly, we found it necessary to rebuild it from the ground up. We are now in beta test, with the publication of two new articles: "Where There's Smoke ...." and, in celebration of the Fourth of July, "Patriotism Is...." We will be posting other new articles on a regular basis as well as restoring old articles to our archive as quickly as time will allow. (Again, we appreciate your patience, as converting each article to the new compliant code is a laborious and time-consuming process, an' ther' ain't no undocumented ET's aroun' here willin' ta do the work fer cheap.) We think you will find the new look of PerspicacityPress.com cleaner, less cluttered and easier to read. It should also be faster to load and easier to navigate. |
